Omnipotent Youth Society is currently one of the most prestigious Chinese rock bands. Formed in the 1990s and officially named in 2002, the band's music often features open arrangements that convey poetic narratives, with a style that spans alternative rock, folk, and art rock. In 2010, the band released its debut self-titled album, "Omnipotent Youth Society," becoming a phenomenon in the Chinese music scene for the next decade. In 2020, after a ten-year hiatus, they released their second album, "Inside The Cable Temple," maintaining a remarkably high artistic standard. Currently, it holds the record for the highest sales in China's independent music digital album history, with over 900,000 copies sold.
